Carolina Beach Dragon Boat Regatta & Festival
Where: Carolina Beach Marina & Waterfront
When: September 20 - 21, 2024
Time: Friday: Free Concert - 6PM - 9:30PM
Saturday: Race - 9AM and Awards Ceremony - 4PM
Hosted by The Island Men, the first day begins with a kickoff party and a free outdoor concert where teams are announced. The following day, participants who have created or joined a team race a 45-foot-long, colorful watercraft. Trophies and awards are handed out to the winners. Viewers can enjoy vendors, food and drinks while they watch the race along the waterway.

Pets in the Park
Where: Carolina Beach Lake Park
When: October 5, 2024
Time: 10AM - 2PM
Come and celebrate your animal friends and pet-centric local business! Pet photos, demonstrations, adoptions, a puppy kissing both, food trucks and much more will be available. Admission is typically $5 which includes a goody bag while supplies last. Kids under 10 are free and well-behaved pets are welcome!
Farewell Summer Jazz Funeral
Where: Kure Beach Oceanfront Park & Pavilion
When: October 4, 2024
Time: Jazz Band Procession at 7PM followed by the concert until 9PM
Enjoy this annual festival held by the town of Kure Beach to say so long to summer. A crowd participation New Orleans style jazz funeral procession, delicious traditional New Orleans cuisine and all are encouraged to wear their best hats and parasols!
Pleasure Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge
Where: Carolina Beach and Kure Beach
When: October 19 - 20, 2024
This around the clock fishing challenge is of the largest tournaments in southern North Carolina! With over 30 ways to win and approximately $30,000 worth of prizes, everyone has a great chance to win. A few categories include junior, senior and lady angler which makes it fun for the whole family.

Cape Fear Kite Festival
Where: Fort Fisher State Recreation Area
When: November 1 - 3, 2024
Enjoy kites like you've never seen before! Over 20+ giant kite flyers, sport kite flyers, food trucks, brewery tent, live music, kids activities and more are offered during this two-day festival. The event is free for spectators and leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome.
